Development of any kind is ultimately tied to education, which gives people the basic means to change the condition of their lives. Good teachers help children experience the joy of learning, fulfill their potential, and have a chance at a better life.
Humana People to People has been sowing the seeds of development by training quality teachers. The reputation of the organization’s DNS teacher-training program has grown considerably since the first college was opened in Maputo, Mozambique in 1993. The success of the training model has led to agreements with 7 countries to establish more than 100 colleges. Graduates are helping to revitalize elementary education, and meet the urgent need for teachers in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
Humana People to People, together with our partners and sponsors, are proud of what we have achieved together. We are currently training more than 5,000 new primary school teachers per year in the areas where they are needed most. We invite you to join us in continuing and expanding this vital work.
