OFID Training

The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) has entered into a multi-regional partnership agreement with Humana People to People to train 164 new primary school teachers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, and Mozambique

The student teachers are being trained at colleges that have been established and are operated by local members of the Humana People to People federation in each country.  The OFID–sponsored training of the student teachers began in November 2015 and will continue for three years.  It is intended to boost access to quality education for under-served rural populations.

OFID is the development finance institution established by the member states of OPEC in 1976 as a collective channel of aid to developing countries. OFID works in cooperation with country partners and the international donor community to stimulate economic growth and alleviate poverty in disadvantaged regions of the world.
